MJCC Accolades
Mary Johnson Children's Center prides itself on providing the community with the best and most dedicated staff possible to serve our children and families. Aside from being a NAEYC accredited program, below are a few of our accomplishments and accolades.
Emeritus Board Members
John Barrera
John was a founding member of the Mary Johnson board of directors from 1970-2020; much of this time serving as the treasurer of the board.
Peg Martin
Peg was a founding member of Mary Johnson and served on our board on and off since our creation in 1970; much of this time serving as the secretary of the board.
Misse Smith
Misse was a member of the Mary Johnson board of directors from 1992-2020; much of this time serving as the president of the board.
Director's Fund
Yearly, we will recognize a staff member or members who have went above and beyond expectations to continue their growth and knowledge in the Early Education Field. This fund was created in 2023 to honor two longtime co-directors for Mary Johnson Children's Center, Ilana Snyder & Barbara Saunders. Their dedication to the children and families that we have served is what we all strive to achieve.

Presented annually to a teacher at MJCC who best reflects Connie's spirit and her dedication to young children.
Her creativity, sense of humor, energy, and endless delight in each child have made her an inspiration to her fellow teachers, families, and the community.
